Participants' ages: pre-school and primary school students.
In an authentic setting - the homestead of a poor peasant - the participants get acquainted with the environment of the time, discuss the social situation of the shepherd, the shepherd's hardships: work, living conditions, clothing. Participants dress up in home-made linen shirts and aprons, walk around in clogs, carry buckets with a burden, and try the whip. A bonfire is built and 'shepherd's kugel' - potatoes - is baked. Old village games are played.
