Renginiai

Konferencijoje bus nagrinėjama Užgavėnių šventės kilmė, regioniniai ypatumai ir jų kaita nuo seniausių laikų iki šių dienų. Pranešėjai dalinsis įžvalgomis apie Užgavėnių vietą baltų kultūroje bei vyks diskusija apie sąsajas su kitų tautų papročiais, bus nagrinėjami šventės istoriniai, mitologiniai ir religiniai aspektai.

Diskusijų metu bus aptariama, kaip ši tradicija išliko ir transformavosi XXI a., kas pasikeitė bei kokie iššūkiai kyla siekiant išsaugoti autentiškus papročius. Konferencija skirta etnologams, istorikams, pedagogams, kultūros paveldo tyrėjams, folkloristams, etnografams ir visiems, besidomintiems tradicinėmis šventėmis bei jų išsaugojimu.

International Conference "SHROVETIDE: HISTORY, TRADITIONS, INNOVATIONS"

The conference will explore the origins of Shrove Tuesday celebrations, regional variations, and their transformations from ancient times to the present day. Speakers will share insights into the place of Shrove Tuesday in Baltic culture, discuss its connections with the traditions of other nations, and examine the historical, mythological, and religious aspects of the celebration.
Discussions will focus on how this tradition has survived and evolved in the 21st century, what has changed, and what challenges arise in preserving authentic customs. The conference is intended for ethnologists, historians, educators, cultural heritage researchers, folklorists, ethnographers, and all those interested in traditional celebrations and their preservation.
